Caravan stays run from May until the end of September.
The caravan is in storage over winter (October to April).
The caravan has underfloor heating, wall radiators and separate insect and black out blinds on all windows.
The sleeping configuration is one double bed (situated in its own private room), one bunk bed (upper bunk is adult sized but we only allow a maximum user weight of 45kg) and one single bed. The maximum number of residents is five. Four adults maximum.
There is a separate u shaped seating area around a large dining table (in the kitchen area) which comfortably seats five.
The double bedroom area has a sliding door should you want privacy from the rest of the caravan.
Inside we provide:
- Fridge with freezer compartment
- Kitchen sink with hot cold taps
- 3 burner gas cooking hob
- Kettle for gas burner.
- Toaster for gas burner.
- Plates, cutlery, mugs and glasses
- All bedding (pillows, sheets and duvet)
- Shower and toilet
- Washing / tooth brushing sink with hot cold taps.
- Two pull down blinds on all windows (one insect and one full black out).
- Internal caravan door and privacy curtain to create two separate/private bedroom areas and a separate kitchen/seating area.
We have only one caravan, so your surroundings are peaceful and private.
Your group will be the only ones staying on site.
We maintain the grassland and trees around the caravan by cutting some areas short and leaving other areas as flower meadow for the benefit of the local wildlife.
The caravan area has outdoor seating and there is a second seating area lakeside next to the boat. The caravan is 30m from where the boat is docked and the lakeside seats. Both locations offer views of the lake, islands, forest, grassland and hills.
The caravan has numerous bird boxes visible from the caravan windows.
Wildlife viewing from the caravan is wonderful. Many of the photos on the website were taken from there.
Smoking and candles are not permitted in the caravan.
No BBQ’s. Most summers in Sweden have a no open fires ban due to the risk of grass and forest fires. Temperatures can reach over 30 degrees centigrade, with up to 20 hours of daylight in a 24 hour period.
The caravan does not have a TV or WiFi. Our aim is to offer a peaceful, relaxing stay free from stress!
For the comfort of those using the accommodation and for the preservation of onsite ground nesting birds we do not allow pets. No dogs are allowed.
Occupants of the caravan are required to carry out the refilling of the caravan water storage tank via a hosepipe situated next to the caravan. The number of people staying in the caravan, the amount of showers taken etc dictates how often the water tank needs filling. As an average, two people staying will need the water tank topping up daily (it takes 15 minutes to do). The process is like filling a car with fuel.
The waste water portable small tank requires emptying (usually every second or third day) and takes 15 minutes to do.
Instructions on how to operate the caravan heating, shower, lighting, gas cooking hob, clean water and waste water etc will be given upon arrival.
The village supermarket is a few minutes walk from the caravan. The shop is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
In May (and possibly June) the caravan will be situated on dry ground further away (200m) from the lake edge.
The spring snow melt can make the lakeside grassland wet and muddy. We place the caravan adjacent to our barn overlooking the lake plus our grassland and forest until the ground dries out.
When the caravan is situated near our barn you have access to mains electric for charging phones etc.
When the caravan is placed lakeside it runs off batteries. At this time, phones or laptops etc must be charged from electric points in our barn and cannot be charged in the caravan.
