Lycksele in Lapland Northern Sweden – No sign of santa but plenty of wildlife.

A popular bird to visit and view is the Hazel Grouse or Hazel Hen (Tetrastes bonasia). They are a sedentary species and are easy to see and photograph throughout the year. They are experts at balancing on the thinnest of branches to eat new shoots and buds. Here is a plump one we photographed this week.
