Whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) have arrived.

Beautiful blue sky, bright sun and melting snow and ice. A walk through our forest to the river today and we met a noisy White-throated dipper (Cinclus cinclus) and a pair of Whooper Swan. The swans return each year to breed. We watch the youngsters grow up as we progress through the fishing season out on the lake in our boat.

The river offers a peaceful place in the forest to fish or bird watch and you may just meet a Moose (Alces alces), Beaver (Castor fiber) and Owl up close.
