Everyday we are seeing lots of male Capercaillie in groups perched at the top of trees. They are warming up, keeping away from ground predators (such as fox and lynx) and keeping an eye out for their nemesis the Golden Eagle.
Today we saw a group of three, elsewhere a group of 13, then a single one all in a 20 minute drive.
Meanwhile, on the ground near our house we are seeing lots of moose.
My favourite was the mum with her twin calves that played peek a boo with us. Here they are…..
